Post progressive/World Fusion band ANUBIS SPIRE signs with STATUE RECORDS. ANUBIS SPIRE has signed a worldwide licensing, manufacturing, retail distribution and commercial radio promo contract with L.A.'s Statue Records, the west coast's largest independent label. Statue Records will be releasing the band's debut CD "Old Lions (in the world of snarling sheep)" on the STATUE label and providing retail store placement, commercial radio promotion and digital media downloads. ANUBIS SPIRE'S principle songwriter and guitarist, Bill MacKechnie, said "We're happy to have Statue onboard. The non-exclusive contract will allow us to continue to be in control of our rights and recorded output while allowing Statue's retail and distribution clout to bring our music to a whole new level of visibility and directly to those fans who buy music exclusively 'off the shelf' at retail outlets. We're also excited about finally getting a shot at commercial radio airplay. We do extremely well on indie, college and internet stations, but commercial radio has been a hard nut to crack. Statue's commitment to working their releases 'the old fashioned way' by hitting the phones, street and knocking on radio station doors is just what we need at this point in the plan.
