Company description:: January 17, 2004, New York City - Pacific Time Entertainment announces the release of "Discorporated," from New Jersey based singer/songwriter
Kimon. The self-produced album is the follow up to the 2002 solo debut album "Your Lucky Day," and features 11 politically charged original tunes penned by Kimon.
"He's been really road-hardened, paying his dues so to speak for a long time in miscellaneous bands and countless gigs along the eastern seaboard," says Pacific Time Entertainment president Curtis Urbina. "I think that's part of what accounts for his motivation to get political. Regardless, we are very pleased to be able to introduce Kimon to a national audience."
Snubbing the typical "introspective singer/songwriter" genre, Kimon projects his cynical demeanor outward, and it reflects upon the tracks on Discorporated, a themed album not for the faint of heart, about disenfranchisement, corporate greed, corrupt officials and the military industrial complex. In an era of ultra-conservativism, when other artists play it safe, Kimon fires back with cuts including the pointed
"Percussion Bomb" and "World By The Balls," challenging the Bush Administration's dubious justifications for the '03 Iraq War. Kimon takes on corporate criminals and polluters in "Mother Earth" and "Dig Yourself (Deeper In The Hole)," and rampant consumer culture in "Buy,
Buy, Buy."
Already receiving favorable early response from a number of radio personalities around the country including Blake Dannen of WZZO in Whitehall, PA, and Puma Pete of WPSC in Wayne, NJ, Kimon will be supported by an extensive radio and press marketing launch, as well as various performances around the country as part of a multi-city
promotional tour this spring.
