Local New Jersey musician releases self-produced debut CD.
Musician, songwriter Drew Vics, released his debut CD on October 31, 2003. Since that time he has been selling the CD locally and online through his website http://DrewVics.com as well as CDBaby.com, TowerRecords.com, and BuyIndieMusic.com.
After many years of writing and recording his own music, Drew arrived at the conclusion that he had all the resources at his disposal to produce and manufacture his own CD project. He has several years of recording experience, so he constructed a studio in the basement of his home in Butler and began the process of digitally recording his songs.
Drew played every instrument on the CD except for keyboard work done by long-time friend and musical partner John Frawley, and additional guitar work on one track by Jay Baney, co-worker and fellow guitarist.
After recording was complete, the tracks were burned onto CD and a package design was developed. Drew is also an artist so he designed the cover himself, and screen printed each CD in his garage. The final product is indeed impressive, and quite professional for something created by hand. Many who have listened agree that the songs are of equal quality and character to most music heard on the radio today. Some say they're better.
The aptly titled CD "No More Waiting" is a collection of striking, unique songs that work as a group, sharing their CD surface in harmony, while still maintaining individual impact.
Having obvious roots in classic rock, incluenced by progressive rock and blues, and some having a noticeable country feel, Drew's songs are a treat to those who appreciate well crafted, dynamic music. They're fun, entertaining and thought provoking.
Flavored with refreshingly original guitar playing (including a revival of the talk box), complimented by solid rhythms featuring exciting bass colorizations, and unique structure, the songs work well together, yet each has a certain unique personality.
